Don't Miss The Run Off

It’s early November and at the Top End the weather is really starting to warm up, with the odd storm around and the humidity rising the wet season in not far away. It's this time of the year that the Barra fishers minds are looking ahead to the end of the wet and the Run Off.

Occurring at the end of the wet season when the water on the flood plains start receding, the Run Off is undoubtedly the best time of the year to get into some serious Barra Fishing.

With this receding water come all sorts of Barra sweets, frog’s tadpoles, small fish etc. The Barramundi congregate at these run off locations for what is probably the easiest feed they are going to get all year.

This good news for Barra is also good news for the fisherman, making this piscatorial pursuit a little easier than it can be at other times of the year.

Whilst the timing of the Run Off does depend on the weather, it is normally considered that the months of March through to Mid May is Run Off time.

Famous Top End fishing locations like Shady Camp, South Alligator River and the East Alligator River are all great Run Off fishing locations. During this time of the year, these rivers produce some great fishing with reports of trophy Barra being a daily occurrence.

A Run Off fishing tour can be a day tour an extended tour or mothership tour , with the extended & mothership options providing the best opportunities to tangle with some top class Barra.

Check out Fish The Top End's day, extended and mothership tour options and start planning your fishing adventure now as run off fishing tours fill quickly.

Fish The Top End can give you the best option to catch that trophy fish that you will brag about for years to come….
